Youth Services

Young Salvos volunteer helping rough sleeper

The Salvos Youth Network works to provide disconnected and disadvantaged young people with safe places and support to recreate dreams and hopes – the vital ingredients to turning lives around.

Our trained youth workers are ready to help young people who are doing life a bit tough. Whether they just need temporary help or are trying to turn their life around, our youth services are places where they can find safety and support to keep them going.

Some of our youth services include:

  • Crisis and transitional accommodation
  • Accredited workplace training
  • Drug and alcohol support
  • Educational and vocational programs
  • Drop-in facilities
  • Counselling
  • Chaplaincy and advocacy support
  • Social skills and life skills
  • Creative arts and multimedia
  • Legal services and support

Driving programs

Drive for Life is a driver training and mentoring program that equips young people, who are overcoming adversity, to obtain their driver’s licence. The program removes barriers and provides a pathway towards positive role models, developing independent life skills and improved employment prospects.

“Through Drive for Life I have met some of the smartest, most promising young people. It’s rewarding to see when a student commits so much time and effort logging hours to pass their P’s test. They are young people who just need a hand to head in the right direction.” – Drive for life Mentor
