What is the meaning of ‘home’?

Everyone deserves a place to call ‘home’. But what does ‘home’ look like?

In Melbourne’s CBD News, 28 May 2021, Major Brendan Nottle emphasised the wording ‘homelessness’ as distinctly different to ‘houselessness’. He writes: “There is a global acknowledgement that people do not just need a roof over their heads. Rather, for people to be fully human, they need a home which is safe and secure.”

In the below video, we encourage you to reflect on what the meaning of home is to you – and how that differs for people experiencing homelessness.

You can be part of unlocking the door to ‘home’ for every Australian.
