Volunteer with Salvos Schools

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Salvation Army. We couldn’t do what we do in the community without our army of volunteers!

Volunteers help bring to life our Salvation Army vision, mission and values. Together, we are partnering to build healthy communities with integrity, compassion and respect, in the spirit of diversity and collaboration. Volunteering with the Salvos is a rewarding experience that helps students make a tangible difference in the lives of others and in the wider community. Our Salvation Army volunteer opportunities vary from just a few hours to ongoing commitments. We have opportunities for both primary school and senior secondary students.

Whether you’re seeking volunteering opportunities for individual school students, a student group or as a whole school, we’d love to hear from you.

“The Salvation Army workshops were invaluable to [our students]. Each class was presented with information that was both interesting and challenged ideas about homelessness in Australia. The activities were creative and engaging and allowed for discussion and learning to take place, inspiring students to put their [learning] into action through food donation. We look forward to continuing this work with the Salvation Army.”
