Salvos Candle Bags

How Carols in the Domain started

Robyn Hobbs, the founder of Carols in the Domain and a much-valued supporter of The Salvation Army, identified the need for an event in Sydney that brought people together at Christmas. And Carols in the Domain started.

These bags are packed and sold with the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers — a memorable and meaningful way for the public to support the work and mission of The Salvation Army.

All funds raised via sales of candle bags support the life-changing community services and programs offered by the Salvos. Visit our impact page to learn more.

Salvos Candle Bags are packed with candles, family treats, and toys and goodies generously donated by Woolworths and other partners. These bags are the perfect way to enjoy the night — and support people in need at the same time.

Over the years, sales of candles and candle bags have raised more than $3.5 million, to help Australians facing homelessness. Every bag sold continues this important tradition — funding vital community-based services that provide meals, safe housing and much-needed hope to those facing hardship.
