Asylum Refugee Services

The Salvation Army Asylum Seeker and Refugee Services (ASRS) program is closing on 30 June 2026.

After careful review, the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Services program, currently operating out of Preston Corps, will close on 30 June 2026.

The Salvation Army is grateful for the dedication, care and commitment shown by personnel and volunteers who have supported the ASRS program over many years. Their work has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of people seeking asylum and refugees in Brunswick, Preston and surrounding communities.

The Salvation Army will continue to work closely with local corps and partner organisations moving forward to understand community needs.

People seeking asylum and refugees, and anyone in need of emergency assistance, can still access support by:

  • Calling the Salvos Phone Assessment Line (PAL) number (state-based)
  • Visiting any face-to-face assessment site

While this program is closing, The Salvation Army continues to support vulnerable communities across Australia. We remain committed to exploring sustainable, scalable ways to meet community needs, including how we support asylum seekers and refugees.
