Addiction awareness program

Addiction awareness program at the Positive Lifestyle Centre

How long: The program runs for six consecutive weeks.

How often: There is a one week break between each program, so it is run regularly throughout the year.

Bookings: Bookings are essential (classes have limited numbers) and prior to commencement an application form must be filled out and the fees paid.

The purpose of the program is to make people aware of addiction, and present strategies for first identifying, arresting, and managing inappropriate behaviour associated with addictive patterns.

The program is presented by a facilitator and the attendees have the option of how much they wish to contribute themselves.

 

SESSION 1: What is an Addiction & Harm Minimisation.

Analyse various forms of addiction and discuss stratagies to stay safe whilst getting addiction under control.

SESSION 2: Stages of Change / Reprogramming the Subconscious.

Where are we now with our addictive behaviour?

SESSION 3: Boundaries & Relationships.

The importance of putting in place effective boundaries and the triangle of self-obsession.

SESSION 4: Anger Styles & Lifestyle Changes.

Discover and challenge your anger styles and ways to improve your lifestyle.

 

SESSION 5: Motivation, Goal Setting & Triggers for Relapse.

This session looks at reasons why lapse and relapse occur, and stratagies to avoid this, such as significant change in old behaviour patterns.

 

SESSION 6: Program Recap.

Recapping past sessions and testimonies.

 

Graduation:

At the completion of the program clients who have attended all 6 sessions will be presented with a certificate acknowledging their participation.
