What our program partners say about Salvos Schools

"Thank you for your informative and engaging presentation."

"I was also impressed with our students' participation and their interest in the topic of homelessness. Once again, I commend you all on your passion in showing unconditional commitment to making a difference to people who are marginalised in our community.

– Teacher

"Thank you for taking my daughter to the Salvation Army for the workshop."

She took me by surprise on the weekend as we walked past a young person who was asking for money. My daughter asked her if we could take her over to [a shop] to buy her a sandwich or a drink. The empathy and understanding shown by my daughter was due to the work she had done at the Salvos.

– Parent

"[The Facilitators] tailored each presentation to the group in front of them. The stories were real and engaging. […] The activities give the students time to think and not listen and be active participants- all well timed with the information given.”

– Teacher

"The food and care packaging made me feel like I was contributing and making a difference"

– Student

"The presentation was really well done and covered some really important points."

"I think it really showed another side of the coin, which is exactly what I was after :-) […] You presented the information without ascribing any judgement, and this was appreciated and recognised as important for [students].

– Teacher

"I will remember the daily hardships that people less-fortunate go through and be more grateful for my life and try and make more of a difference"

– Student

"I quite enjoyed this and because of this maybe one day I will come and help support those people like one of you"

– Student
