There’s still time to make a difference
Over the next 24 hours, it’s likely that more than 5,000 people will seek and receive Salvos’ care. Many will be as damaged as Ruth was when she first arrived. Others will be struggling with hardship, homelessness, despair or loneliness.

Ruth admits that her life was “a mess” before she found the courage to ask for help from the Salvos.
She’d been a victim of domestic violence in three different relationships. Been homeless. Had her daughter taken from her. She’d even been to prison.
It took even greater courage to fight as hard as she did to rebuild her life.
But she has done it – thanks to you.
She apologised to her parents for everything she put them through – and thanked them for never giving up on her. She’s asked for forgiveness and said sorry to her children for all the times she let them down.
And she found comfort in the care of the Salvos to free herself from darkness, into a new life filled with hope and love.
