From community meals to supermarkets, cafes, food vouchers, mobile meals, groceries and markets - if you're hungry we can help
Much more than a full stomach
We understand it can be a struggle to afford basic necessities, especially with a family. And if you’re struggling, you’re not alone. One in four people who come to us is unable to afford even one substantial meal a day.
If you’re stressed about feeding your family, we can help with bags of groceries and vouchers in some centres.
If you find yourself alone at Christmas, we have community dinners where you can enjoy a meal and the company of others. As well as food on the table, we can offer a range of housing, financial , employment and counselling services to help with advice for tomorrow.

Every Tuesday morning our Carrum Downs centre in Victoria transforms into a mini-supermarket and cafe for around 40 families. One visitor-turned-volunteer is Sarah – a single mother of two small children, both with special needs. At times Sarah had to skimp on meals to make sure the kids had something to eat. “I feel quite transformed,” she says. “Being able to get fresh fruit and vegetables made me feel so much healthier on the inside and out.”
For Sarah, regaining the power to make choices about her family’s nutrition gave her confidence a huge boost, and now she’s a regular volunteer. “It’s a great place to make friends,” she says. “It’s welcoming, and there’s no judgement. I love being able to give back.”
