Myer helps us say Thank You

Myer CEO, Mr Bernie Brookes, hosted a special event recently where The Salvation Army acknowledged the wonderful support of its corporate partners, particular individuals and other organisations of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

The event, entitled The Road to Recovery, was held in the Myer Lonsdale Street Store. Chairmen, CEO’s and senior executives from almost 50 major companies attended the evening and each organisation was presented with a unique gift to recognise their contribution to the Appeal.

Territorial Commander, Commissioner James Knaggs, in thanking all of these donors, highlighted how the true value and benefit of these partnerships goes way beyond the actual dollars donated.

Chief Secretary, Colonel Raymond Finger then spoke of where the Appeal funds are being applied, our plans for the future and how the affected communities are faring at present. He also introduced and thanked Misty Stebbing for her amazing efforts and incredible contribution to the people and communities around Whittlesea and Kinglake.

Mr Brookes then responded, on behalf of Myer and all the organisations represented, and congratulated The Salvation Army on its tireless efforts in helping those affected by the tragic events of Black Saturday.
