NSW & QLD flood disaster - Thank you!

Your support of the Salvos Flood Appeal helped people through the worst and is now helping families recover and rebuild their lives. Thank you!

The unprecedented floods across eastern parts of Australia this year left people devastated.

Not only were tens of thousands of families displaced with nowhere to go, their homes were destroyed, businesses shattered and sadly families lost loved ones.

This was a disaster, we as a country, have never seen before.

Yet together as a nation we are incredibly resilient. Even more, we are caring and compassionate. When we see others in need we act.

Thanks to you and so many other wonderful Australians, The Salvation Army and volunteers were on the frontline in a matter of hours helping where they were needed most.

Here’s how you made a difference in the weeks of immediate need and early recovery:

Over $5.3M in financial assistance distributed

26,184 households assisted

40,000 meals served in the first two weeks to families and workers

  • More than 250 volunteers across 30 recovery hubs during the peak of the floods
  • Distribution of thousands of in-kind care including food parcels, clothing and practical items
  • Salvos counselling and care to help people through the trauma to find hope

Take a moment to hear from some people working on the frontline, as we say thank you for letting people know they are not alone as they rebuild their lives.

Thank you for supporting the Salvos Flood Appeal, giving people light through the darkness of disaster. You are truly special.
