Salvo team provides support in the Nauru Regional Processing Centre

18 February 2013

This is the mission statement of the Salvation Army teams that work in the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.

The conditions are hostile, the hours are long, yet the teams are committed to providing support to residents of the Processing Centre, developing a sense of community and belonging that has often been lost in their search for asylum. The Salvation Army is working hard with other staff, volunteers and contractors to provide opportunities for residents to engage with each other and the local environment, in a way that is constructive and contributes positively to their time spent while at Nauru.
