No Will?  There is a way!

The Salvation Army is providing local people with the opportunity to make a Simple Will, or amend a current one in a ‘Community Wills Program’. With the support of local solicitors, The Salvation Army is able to provide this service for a donation of $50.00.  Funds raised on the day will go to support the work of the Salvos in the communities where the sessions are held - including Morning Peninsula, Hobsons Bay and Doncaster.

John Williamson, Territorial Bequest Development Director for The Salvation Army says ‘Local solicitors have generously donated their time, so we are able to provide this community service at a much discounted cost. Having an up to date Will is the only way to make sure your requests are carried out properly and in accordance with your wishes. By coming along to our Wills Day you can have your Simple Will prepared or updated by a local solicitor and support the work of The Salvation Army.”

The Salvation Army has been assisting Australians in need for 125 years. Through a broad range of services, The Salvos extend care to over one million people each year. As part of these services, The Salvation Army encourages individuals to create their own Will outlining their own personal wishes for how accumulated or inherited assets will be distributed.

To book an appointment or for more information about how you can support the work of The Salvation Army in your Will, please contact Melinda Cunneen on 1800 337 082 on Monday to Friday from 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Appointments for the Wills Program are to be held at Salvation Army churches within the month of March, with further dates for 2014 to be confirmed. A Will Instruction sheet, voucher along with a letter containing solicitors contact details will be delivered by a representative from The Salvation Army and the donation is collected.

John Williamson says. “When we have held these days in the past they have been very popular and there are limited appointment times - act now to be sure not to miss out’.
