Community Coordinator

Flagstaff Accommodation service

Full time permanent position

Flagstaff and The Open Door residential facilities are part of the Adult Services Network of The Salvation Army and operate 24 hours/day, 7 days per week.  The two sites provide 102 beds in total for men experiencing homelessness who have high needs, complexity or vulnerability. 

Role

The role of the Community Coordinator at Flagstaff is to coordinate a team of support workers whose roles are to welcome clients into a community of support characterised by genuine acceptance, compassion and care. The role effectively manages the quality of all community supports, facility and operational systems administered across the facility in partnership with the Community Development Coordinator, Casework Team leaders and Managers.

Hours of work

  • Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week within a span of work hours from 6am to 8pm – to be negotiated
  • Access to a monthly RDO

Remuneration

  • The position will be remunerated at the SCHCADS Award, Social Stream level 6
  • Salary packaging benefits

Qualifications

Social Work, Social Science or other relevant tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience in homelessness or similar human service sector roles.

Professional development

Adult Services provides and values professional development, quality supervision and best practice within the sector. A strong framework of development such as performance plans and reviews, supervision, team meetings, internal and external training opportunities and a study leave policy are provided.
