  • Casual shifts between 7pm & 8:30am weekdays and all day weekends 
  • Must be available for shifts from 7pm until 8:30am (sleep-over) 
  • Gateways Crisis Accommodation facility based in Croydon

 

The Salvation Army EastCare Network provides a range of residential and support programs in the Melbourne Eastern Metropolitan Region, including mental health, drug and alcohol outreach support and counselling, intensive case management services for clients in need of complex care, statutory and non-statutory youth services including residential care, youth justice and leaving care, educational and recreation support programs, homelessness, housing and tenancy support, and case management.

 

The Gateways Program is part of a comprehensive range of services provided by EastCare to people who are experiencing or are at risk of primary homelessness.  Its main objective is to provide an integrated response to families and single adults, with a focus on independence and long-term housing options.

 

The Gateways Program provides a 24 hour crisis accommodation service and is looking for experienced Support Workers to join our casual after hours pool. You must be available for shifts from 7pm until 8:30am (sleep-over) 7 days per week, as well as between 8am and 7pm on weekends. You will be responsible for:

 

  • ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients and staff overnight and on weekends
  • working within a case management model as well as working on a one to one basis with clients
  • engaging and working with the target client group to build effective relationships

 

A relevant tertiary qualification at Diploma level or higher in the Social Work, Community Development and/or Welfare field is highly desirable. 

 

You will also have professional experience and highly developed skills in working with single adults and families with accompanying children / adolescents, who may display multiple and complex behaviours.
