Children and Parenting Support Service (CaPSS)

CaPSS is available to families of children aged 0 - 12 years.

The program is delivered within the Australian Government’s Families and Communities Program and works with parents through the delivery of group parenting programs, facilitated peer-to-peer support activities and individualised sessions for parents who may require additional support.

The service aims to increase parental knowledge and skills through parenting programs that connect to four key areas, including:

  • Positive parenting
  • Links to Learning
  • Healthy Family Lifestyles
  • Keeping Children Safe

Through these key areas we seek to increase a parent’s knowledge and understanding to support their children’s development and learning, helping their children through school transitions and connecting into their children’s learning, positively managing behaviours, understanding healthy family lifestyle and providing safe environments for their children.

We build connections to community through partnerships that allow us to add our parenting programs onto other child focused programs such as homework clubs, playgroups and community health services.  We take a strengths based approach to work with parents and to support them to increase enjoyment in their parenting role and maintain positive relationships with their children.
