Aged Care Services
The Salvation Army has been providing aged care in Australia since 1899. We care for the well-being of each person and their family, and work to ensure we meet their specific needs.
The aged care we provide ensures people are healthy, comfortable and, above all, loved. We respect each individual and the rich lives that they lead, so our care is centred around their needs and preferences, not ours.
Models of care
The Salvation Army Aged Care Services provides leading physical, emotional and spiritual care across the nation. We have 20 residential aged care centres, seven centrally located retirement villages, one respite and day centre in the Australian Capital Territory and a range of Home a Community Care programs assisting carers and older people in their home.
We specialise in spiritual, secure dementia, palliative and mental health care to maximise the quality-of-life experienced by all Australians.
Dementia Care Matters
Dementia Care Matters is an international award winning world leader in transformative dementia support and culture change, providing consultancy, nationally recognised training, service development and practice based research to improve dementia support worldwide.
The Salvation Army Aged Care Services was the first Australian provider to launch this model of care in July 2016. Since launching this model at two centres, our aged care services have seen the quality of life, health and wellbeing for residents living with dementia significantly improve. Dementia Care Matters was acquired by The Salvation Army Aged Care Services in 2018.
