About their Support

The Caledonia Foundation provided funding to establish the Oasis Multimedia and Training programs and has supported the program consistently for many years. They provided funding for the National Youth Commission’s Homeless Youth Report and the production of THE OASIS, an observational documentary filmed over two years at Oasis. It highlighted the plight of homeless youth, the role that Oasis (and Captain Paul Moulds) in their lives and was screened nationally on ABC1 in 2008.

The film now forms part of an education and outreach strategy for schools. This includes access to the DVD and study guide which is distributed to every secondary school and selected community agencies in Australia. See Teaching Resources for more detail. The Caledonia Foundation’s funding of The Oasis and Salvos Schools was recognised as one of the top 50 philanthropic initiatives in Australian History.

The Caledonia Foundation have also been regular attendees at our annual ball.
