Community Champions

Staying connected to the community of Sydney and the community of Surry Hills in particular is how Oasis has remained relevant and effective as an organisation for so long.  Oasis began in a Surry Hills laneway in 1992 with 12 staff and a vision to change the lives of homeless youth. Fast forward 22 years and we are still an integral part of this community, but have grown to a team of over 90 people.

It is only through the support of our community, including schools, businesses and local government, who recognise the diversity in their neighbourhood and choose to do something that will connect them positively to this community that we are able to continue to support young people who come to Oasis.

We would like to thank our Community Champions and applaud their commitment to helping the young people who seek refuge at Oasis find their place within society once again.
