MATANA FOUNDATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

About their Support

The Matana Foundation has been long term supporter of Oasis, our accommodation services and training programs.

In 2001, after Matana Foundation for Young People was established, the Loblay family decided to donate a property to the newly-formed Foundation to be used as a haven for homeless young people and called Vera Loblay House.

Vera Loblay House was later kindly donated to Oasis and formed part of our transitional accommodation service from 2003 – 2015. It provided a home for up to seven young people; a place where they were able to pursue their personal and career life choices in a safe place.

The Matana Foundation has also been actively supporting our Street Media program through a regular funding grant since 2009. In 2015, the Matana Foundation committed to support the Oasis Education Centre and Pathways to Employment program for five years at $50,000 per year, per program. The generosity of Karen Loblay and the Matana Foundation has assured the continuation of both of these programs until 2020.

Karen Loblay and the Loblay Family have also been regular guests at the Annual Oasis Charity Ball for many years

About Matana Foundation

Matana Foundation for Young People aims to create a more just society by giving every young person in Australia an equal opportunity to access the skills to negotiate life’s journey.

Under the guidance of our founder, Karen Loblay, and our board of directors, Matana Foundation seeks to operate as a philanthropic foundation that benefits the Australian community. We fund an active grassroots network across the non-profit sector and maintain a commitment to working with others through creative collaborations.

Our aim is to provide assistance to disadvantaged young people in Australia in order to give them the opportunity to reach their full educational and social potential.
