City of Sydney (COS) is integrated into the fabric of what we do at Oasis in so many ways. Their support extends across multiple programs and services including the Driving for Employment, Education and Training program, Street Connect and through donations.
Driving for Employment, Education & TrainingCity of Sydney has partnered with Oasis and the driving program since 2009, helping disadvantaged young people gain employment and work towards achieving independence. The partnership includes funding to deliver the program, the use of two vehicles, funds for petrol and tolls, as well as the provision of service and maintenance for the vehicles. In addition the City of Sydney collaborates with Oasis to deliver driver safety information seminars to program participants, and the wider community.”
Street Connect:In 2013, COS partnered with Oasis and the Street Connect program; an early intervention outreach program for 12-25 year olds run three days a week in high risk areas within Sydney’s inner city. COS have provided Oasis with access to three public spaces each week, BBQ, salad and other foods supplies, providing participants of Street Connect with a nutritious meal and support staff to help facilitate and engage young people.
The Annual Oasis Charity Ball:Since 2013, COS has granted exclusive access to Oasis to use the Sydney Town Hall to host The Annual Oasis Charity Ball. The ball is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year and made all the more spectacular at one of the most historical venues in Sydney.
