Hi everyone!

This coming Sunday, February 13, we will be holding a 9:30am service only.

Following the service, we would like to invite everyone to stay for morning tea and to convene together again in the main worship hall at 11am for a special announcement regarding the future of Parramatta Salvos.

Our 9:30am service will continue to be live-streamed, however, the special announcement will not be live-streamed so we encourage you to attend both in person this week. Of course, communication will be sent out the following week for those who cannot attend.

We hope that you will continue to join us in hope-filled prayer as we look towards an exciting future for our corps and community here in Parramatta!

Flourish
Join us on Saturday 19th of February from 5pm-7pm for some encouragement, food & fun. The cost of the night is $10pp with food and drinks provided.

We will be joined for the evening by our special guest speaker Captain Nicola Poore.

You can register online here or through the registrations envelopes which are available in the foyer. Please register by 5pm on Thursday 17 Feb.
Community Event - Outdoor Movie Night
After hearing feedback from 2021, this year we are taking a new approach to Youth and Young Adults at Parramatta Salvos. This year, our youth 'social activities' will be called 'Community Events', and everyone from Parramatta Salvos will be invited to attend. Parents, kids, youth, grandparents and anyone in between!
We hope these events will facilitate great relationships across our wider community and be a fun time together.

Our first Community Event is TONIGHT Friday 11 February at 7:30pm. So if you are 5, 15, 25, 55 or 105 years old (or anywhere in between!), you are welcome to join us for an Outdoor Movie! This event is free, and all you need to bring is a chair/blanket and some snacks.
English Conversation Groups
We were excited to return to English Conversation Groups this week! If you are interested in attending, join us at Parramatta Salvos each Monday at 10am. All are welcome to join for ECG! If you would like to know more, please contact Ian Martin or the corps office.
Ladies Fellowship
All women are invited to join on Wednesday each week at 10am. This coming Wednesday 16 February Kerrie Parker will be leading on the theme "Who are we? Who are they? Those strangers in the box".
Planned Giving Envelopes
Those who are involved in our Planned Giving Program and use envelopes will realise their supply will finish on the last Sunday in March.  As we are having a renewal Sunday in March and are hoping to get more people in our Corps involved in the program, we have decided to allocate new giving numbers as from the 3/4/22.

There has been a number of people who have switched to doing bank transfers recently, which is great. However, so that we can order sufficient sets of envelopes, we would appreciate it if you could let Margaret Robinson know ASAP if you would like a set of envelopes for the new program. You can chat to Marg in person or email at
margrobbo@iinet.net.au
Vision Sunday
We invite you to join us on Sunday 20 February for our Vision Sunday as we launch our theme for 2022. There will be opportunity to hear about our theme and also sign up to the various mission and ministry opportunities we have at Parramatta Salvos.
Ladies Bible Study
Thursday morning ladies Bible Study recommenced this week with morning tea fellowship and continuing the study of the book of Philippians by Dr David Jeremiah.

If you are interested in joining the ladies group or knowing more, please speak with Janet Muir.  New ladies are always welcome.
Happy Birthday, Joyce!
A big happy birthday to Joyce Offereins who turns 94 on the 15th of February. We hope you feel loved and celebrated, Joyce!

Tonga Appeal
The South Pacific island nation of Tonga felt the full force of the 15 January undersea volcanic eruption and subsequent tsunami.

The Salvation Army has been working in Tonga for more than 30 years. It is part of the New Zealand Fiji, Tonga and Samoa Territory. Our thoughts and prayers are with our people there; Our prayers are also with those responding to this emergency and the various communities affected.

The Australia Territory is accepting donations to help in the immediate relief effort and ongoing recovery. If you would like to donate, please do so by clicking this link.
Upcoming Surgery
Please pray for our friend Astrida from our Ladies Fellowship group as she faces surgery. Doctors are positive for a good outcome, so we join them in the positivity and hope and pray for the best outcome for Astrida.
