Hi Parramatta Salvos,

We are so excited to join together this Sunday 13 August for our Kids & Youth Sunday!

We'll be holding a special 10am service, led by our Kids & Youth, and we invite everyone to join and support our young people.

We are pleased to let you know that Katelyn Parker will be getting enrolled as a Sr Soldier during this service!

Following the service, at 12pm, we will be joining together for fellowship lunch. Please come with a savoury lunch dish to share with everyone. Food can be dropped off in the corps kitchen prior to the service. Dessert and drinks will be provided.

We are still in need of more people to help in the kitchen - if you are able to help with getting the food out before lunch or packing up after lunch, please contact Kylie.

Don't forget that we want everyone to come dressed in 'under the sea' theme on Sunday! Wear blue, dress up as a mermaid, a fish, a pirate - the list is endless!

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we hear from our Kids & Youth!

Change of General
The Salvation Army Internationally has elected a new world leader or 'General'. As General Brian Peddle and Commissioner Rosalie Peddle retire, they have written final pastoral letter to all Salvationists. You can click here to read.

We are now all invited to take part in welcoming General Lyndon Buckingham and Commissioner Bronwyn Buckingham by virtually joining the welcome event on Monday 4 September from 12.30am AEST. As an international church family, the celebration is an opportunity to give thanks and commit to praying for the General and Commissioner Bronwyn as they take on the leadership of our international movement. The event will include participation from the International Staff Band and International Staff Songsters and contributions from around the world. Community Connection Worker
We are sad to inform you that our Thushy, our Community Connection Worker, has finished up with us at Parramatta Salvos this week. Thushy has been offered a new and exciting opportunity with Blacktown City Council. We would like to share with you a farewell email Thushy wrote this week.

Dear Friends at The Salvation Army - Parramatta,

As I reflect on the past year, I am amazed at how swiftly time has flown by. It is with mixed emotions that I bid adieu as a staff member, yet I am excited about the new chapter that awaits. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for making my time here truly memorable.

The warm welcome I received when I joined exactly a year ago was a testament to the sense of community and camaraderie that defines The Salvation Army - Parramatta. Your support, camaraderie, and the prompt rapport we established have meant the world to me. The friendships formed and the experiences shared have been truly enriching.

Though my role as a staff member may come to a close, please know that this is not a goodbye forever. I am eager to continue my connection with this wonderful organization, albeit in a new capacity as a volunteer. The work being done here resonates deeply with me, and I look forward to contributing in a different capacity while maintaining the bonds we've built.

Thank you for the valuable lessons, the laughter-filled moments, and the sense of purpose that being a part of this team has given me. As I take this step forward, I carry with me the memories and the spirit of The Salvation Army - Parramatta.

With sincere appreciation and warm regards,
Thushy
