Parramatters - 28th July 2023

Hi Parramatta Salvos, 

This Sunday we continue our series titled Greater Things. We will be looking at the theme of The Lord is doing great things and look forward to hearing from Major Ann Lingard at 9.30am and 11am.

At 9am on Sunday Major Leanne and Clayton Spence, with the brass band, will be leading worship at The Willows. We thank them for this ministry and pray God's blessing over this gathering.

Ladies Fellowship
This Wednesday Major Bevely Mole will be leading Ladies Fellowship. All women are invited to join together at 10am for morning tea, followed by the meeting at 10.30am.

Furlough
Sarah is out of the office on holidays and will be returning on Sunday 6^th August. Please contact Kylie during this time.

Worship Night 
Youth and Young Adults Worship Night is on this Sunday 30 July at 5:30pm! Jacob Browning will be preaching and tour divisional worship team will lead us. All ages are welcome to attend!

Kids & Youth Sunday
Our Kids and Youth Sunday will be on Sunday 13 August! We'll be holding a special 10am service, followed by corps lunch and fun activities. Make sure you mark your diaries and plan to be there! 

We are excited to let you know that Katelyn Parker will be getting enrolled as a Sr Soldier during this service! 

Please come with a savoury lunch dish to share with everyone at our 12pm fellowship lunch, following the service. Dessert will be provided. 

Youth and Young Adults
All are welcome to join next Friday night 4 August at Shannon's House from 7pm-9pm. We can't wait to hang out with all our youth and young adults! 

Men's Breakfast
All men are invited to join together for Breakfast on the Balconyon Saturday 12th August, 9.30am.

Trivia Night
We are excited to be partnering with Grill'd Parramatta in a fundraising Trivia Night to raise money for Parramatta Salvos. Cost for the night is $25 per person, this includes a burger, chips and trivia. Registration will be available from next week. 

Opportunity to help
We have an elderly community member who is in desperate need of either a large phone or a laptop. Does anyone have anything spare at home that they have finished with that they could donate to this lady? It would be very much appreciated. If so, can you please see Rachel Betteridge to discuss.

New Concierge
We are pleased to announce that Marica (pronounced Maritza) Stamp will be commencing as our new Concierge from next week. Marica comes to us from The Salvation Army's PR team and has been working in our building, in Shop 5, for the past 6 months.
We are excited that Marica will be joining the team here at Parramatta.
If you're in the building during the week please say hello to her and make her feel welcome.

Retreat

Enrolment of Alice Nuttall as Senior Soldier
On Tuesday 25th July, Major Kylie was privileged to enroll Alice Nuttall as a Senior Soldier of The Salvation Army. The enrolment took place in the chapel of Melrose Village where Alice lives. Only a few people were allowed to attend because of restrictions of the village. Due to Alice's health, she is no longer able to attend Sunday worship very often but still feels very much part of the corps. 

Heather Hayes
Heather has come home from hospital but would still appreciate our prayers at this time.

Warren Freeman
Please pray for Warren who was re-admitted to hospital last weekend.

Len Whittaker
Len Whittaker also needs our prayers after a stay in hospital. Len will be spending two weeks in respite care before returning home.
