This week, we continue our series "Foundations", exploring our history and DNA as a worldwide movement. This week we take a look at our Vision and Mission as the Salvation Army in Australia.

Youth and Young Adults
Join us tonight, Friday night 16 June for a GIANT GAMES night! We'll be playing life-size Mario Kart, Hungry Hippos and a variety of other fun giant games. All Youth and Young Adults are welcome to join form 7pm-9pm.

Bands in the Round
All are invited to join Parramatta Band at Bands in the Round in Maitland this Saturday 17 June. Tickets are $10 and your ticket will be your voucher for the light dinner.  Everyone, audience and musicians, should purchase their ticket online from Trybooking rather than at the venue on the day. This will assist with catering for the dinner.

Funds raised from our event in Maitland will go towards music ministries in the Kenya East Territory. 

Ladies Fellowship
This Wednesday 21st June Major David Collinson and Roza Gutschow (The Salvation Army NSW Schools Engagement Manager) will be leading Ladies Fellowship. All women are invited to join together at 10am for morning tea, followed by the meeting at 10.30am 

The Sanctuary Course is Back!
How can a church become a sanctuary—a place where individuals living with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging? The Sanctuary Course was created to inspire and equip communities of faith that are asking this important question. Developed in consultation with mental health professionals, theologians, and people with lived experience, this eight-session study guide explores key mental health topics and examines meaningful ways to offer companionship, support recovery, and promote wellbeing.

The Sanctuary Course is for anyone who wants to learn about faith and mental health. It requires no previous training or expertise—just a willingness to engage in dialogue with other believers. This course and films address difficult and sensitive topics, and may not be appropriate for a young audience. It is not recommended for people ages 17 and younger.

This course will take place at Parramatta Salvos (426 Church Street, Parramatta) from 19 July-6 September on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm. Supper will be provided for a gold coin donation each week. Parking is available in our undercover car park (entry via Grose Street).

Corps Retreat 2023
We will be joining together at the Tops Conference Centre from Friday night 30 June to Sunday 2 July under the leadership of Lt. Cols. David and Sandra Godkin. All are welcome to attend as full delegates or day delegates (prices listed in registration link below).

We don't want the cost to be a barrier for anyone, so please let us know if you would like to receive sponsorship. To make the camp more affordable for families, under 18s will be able to attend at a discounted rate (50% less for full delegates).

We would also ask that if you are able, you consider giving a little extra to sponsor another delegate.

The weekend will be a mix of sessions (worship, prayer, teaching), fun activities (theme night, board games, walks and coffee) and time to hang out and relax.

Save the Date!
We have been given an exciting opportunity to partner with Grill'd Parramatta for one of our community nights! Grill'd will be hosting a trivia night, including a meal, on Sunday 27 August. More info will be available in the coming weeks, but we encourage you to save the date and invite your friends along!

Scam Awareness
City of Parramatta Libraries are hosting Scam Awareness Talks on the 28th of June in Parramatta, or 19th of July in Epping.  Find out how to identify, protect, and report if affected by a scam. Presented by Services Australia and NSW Police.

Service Seminar
This coming week, Sarah will be away at her 3rd year 'Service Seminar' in Brisbane. These service seminars are opportunities given to officers in the first 5 years of officership to gather with other officers in their 'session', along with the 'First 5 Years Officer Formation Team' and Pastoral Services. The week is a mixture of teaching/learning, connection with peers and spiritual retreat. Sarah will be contactable during this time, however, for urgent matters this coming week it is best to contact Kylie.
