Hi Parramatta Salvos, 

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost and invite you to wear something RED to our Sunday services.

We will be raising funds for the Red Shield Appeal with a bake sale between the two services. If you would like to contribute baked goods, please contact us!

We will also be taking the time to say 'thank you' to all of our incredible volunteers - here at Parramatta Salvos, we simply could not do all that we do in our faith community, and wider community, without all of you who volunteer for our church programs and community programs.

Men's Breakfast on the Balcony
Men of all ages are welcome to join us for Breakfast on the Balcony this Saturday! $5 for a cooked breakfast and great conversation. Pay online or in cash on the day.

Collecting at Bunnings Rydalmere
We are collecting this weekend at both Bunnings Northmead and Rydalmere for the Red Shield Appeal. Thanks to all those already helping out! We have one more time slot to cover - 1pm-3pm at Bunnings Rydalmere this Saturday. If you can help by covering this time slot, please contact the office ASAP. 

Worship Night
Our next our Youth and Young Adults Worship Night is this Sunday night! Join us this Sunday 28 May, when we will be joined by our Divisional Commander, Captain Kim Haworth! 

United Combined Youth and Young Adults Night
All youth and young adults are invited to join us for a United Combined Youth Night at Shire Salvos on Friday 2 June at 7pm. We will be travelling together, leaving Parramatta Salvos at 6pm. Please let a youth leader know if you are coming ASAP so that we can organise transport! 

Flourish
All women are welcome to join us for Flourish on Saturday 3 June for a coffee & dessert afternoon at 2pm. Cost is $10 per person. Come and join us as we learn more about Women & Justice, following on from our Jesus & Justice series. Please register here:

Corps Retreat 2023
We will be joining together at the Tops Conference Centre from Friday night 30 June to Sunday 2 July under the leadership of Lt. Cols. David and Sandra Godkin. All are welcome to attend as full delegates or day delegates (prices listed in registration link below).

We don't want the cost to be a barrier for anyone, so please let us know if you would like to receive sponsorship. To make the camp more affordable for families, under 18s will be able to attend at a discounted rate (50% less for full delegates).

We would also ask that if you are able, you consider giving a little extra to sponsor another delegate.

The weekend will be a mix of sessions (worship, prayer, teaching), fun activities (theme night, board games, walks and coffee) and time to hang out and relax.

Name Badges

Red Shield Appeal Thanks
We are so grateful for everyone who supported and prayed for our Red Shield Appeal this year. So far, we have raised more than $20,000 to help us ensure that no one struggles alone in our community. 

Whether you collected, shared a digital door knock page, joined us for our movie night or raised awareness, we say THANK YOU! 

ePlus Local
ePlus Local is a branch of Employment Plus that seeks to find employment for people who have recently arrived in Australia, including people from refugee backgrounds and those seeking asylum in Australia. 

Last Friday, we held a seminar at Parramatta Salvos for people seeking employment. All participants who were interviewed by SydWest were successful in securing placements (4 participants). The 15 participants who were interviewed by IWAA will be placed once they obtain First Aid certificates.

A fantastic outcome for these people and ePlus Local!

Margaret Robinson
Our dear friend, Margaret Robinson, was peacefully Promoted to Glory early Wednesday morning. 

Margaret will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and we honour her legacy here at Parramatta Corps. Marg faithfully served as our Corps Secretary for over 50 years. We know that Margaret's influence, dedication, service and rich faith have impacted so many of you, and we join with you in your grief and sadness as we remember Marg. 

All are welcome to celebrate Margaret's life by joining with the family on Wednesday 31 May. There will be a Committal Service at Castlebrook Memorial Park in The Garden Chapel (712 - 746 Windsor Road Rouse Hill) at 2pm, followed by a Thanksgiving Service at Parramatta Corps at 3:30pm.
