Hi Parramatta Salvos,

This Sunday we conclude our sermon series - "David: the making of", where we have been focusing on David's early life in the book of 1 Samuel. We're looking forward to hearing Kylie preach this week about being "Appointed".

This Sunday is also our Self Denial Appeal Altar Service, so please come prepared to give using the Self Denial Envelopes.

We are excited to see you and gather in worship together at 9:30am and 11am this week!

(Corps Officer Team)
Parra YAYA
Our next Youth & Young Adults social night is on Friday 31 March. We'll be heading to Laser Tag at Blacktown Zone Bowling Centre with Greater West Youth, so make sure you RSVP by this coming Monday 27 March!
Corps Retreat 2023
We will be joining together at the Tops Conference Centre from Friday night 30 June to Sunday 2 July under the leadership of Lt. Cols. David and Sandra Godkin. All are welcome to attend as full delegates or day delegates (prices listed in registration link below).

We don't want the cost to be a barrier for anyone, so please let us know if you would like to receive sponsorship. To make the camp more affordable for families, under 18s will be able to attend at a discounted rate (50% less for full delegates).

We would also ask that if you are able, you consider giving a little extra to sponsor another delegate.

The weekend will be a mix of sessions (worship, prayer, teaching), fun activities (theme night, board games, walks and coffee) and time to hang out and relax.

We need registrations ASAP, so please follow this link to register: https://forms.office.com/r/xiTWnxV99n
Please note that no payment is required upon registrations - we just really need to know numbers! Also, paper registrations forms are now available in the foyer. Please place them in the 'letterbox' in the foyer.
Ladies Fellowship
Ladies Fellowship is on each Wednesday from 10am in our function hall. All women are welcome to attend! This Wednesday we will be led by our very own Kerrie with the theme "Our UFO's and more - unfinished objects."
Self Denial Appeal
Over the past few years, we have seen incredible generosity from our Parramatta Corps community as we have given to support vulnerable communities overseas through the Self Denial Appeal. We want to encourage you, this weekend, to reflect on this year's theme: ‘A Gift from the Heart’. This theme has been selected so we can explore generous, personal offerings of all shapes and sizes, given for the glory of God.

We ask that you prayerfully consider your contribution to the appeal this year. We have set the bold goal for Parramatta Corps of $55,000, and we believe that we can get there!

This Sunday (26 March) during our 9:30am and 11am services, there will be opportunity to bring your gifts. Hopefully, you have already received a giving envelope from us, but if not, there will be plenty available in the foyer before church on Sunday.

Gifts can be given via cash, cheque, card or by giving your bank account details. There is also the option to give online through www.selfdenial.info - if you give online in this way, please ensure you select 'Parramatta' from the Corps/Centre tab. If you are able to let us know via envelope or email if you have given in this way, that would help us greatly. All receipts will be issued by Territorial Headquarters and sent to you directly once the appeal has concluded.

Our children will also be participating in a special altar service when they go out to Kids Church and Mini God Squad this week. Parents, we ask that you prompt your children to bring along their money boxes this Sunday.
Rural and Remote Mission
Do you love meeting new people? Do you desire to see people growing in their faith? Do you enjoy working in local communities and travelling around the rural and remote areas of Australia?

TSA Nationally is inviting you to consider the ministry of a rural and remote chaplain. An information weekend in Dubbo, NSW is being held by The Territorial Chaplaincy Support Unit where you will hear stories and meet with rural and remote chaplains. Click here to read more.

Planned Giving Envelopes
We are consistently overwhelmed by the generosity of so many in our corps community at Parramatta. For those who give via envelopes, you will note that you are almost out. New envelopes will be available in the foyer from this Sunday, and we ask you to collect them to assist with reducing postage costs.

Over the past 6 months, we have been delighted to welcome new faces into our community at Parramatta Corps. If you would like to be part of our Planned Giving (tithing) program, please email us at parramatta@salvationarmy.org.au and we can provide you with a pledge card and giving number. You can give via envelops, direct debit or bank transfer, or through our open plate. Whilst there's no obligation to be part of the program, we believe in the principles of tithing and contributing to the Kingdom-Building culture at Parramatta Corps through our financial giving, and want to extend the invitation to join us.

Once again, we're so grateful for the many regular givers who are so generous with their resources each week!
New Collecting Opportunity
We have been given the opportunity to collect at Carlingford Court fortnightly on a Wednesday between 10am and 2pm. If you think you may be able to to help by collecting on a roster, please take a look at the roster in the foyer this Sunday to see where you can help out.
PNG
Majors Bill and Bev Mole have kindly donated their collection of items from their time serving in PNG. These items are available for anybody to take, for a small donation that will be included in our collective offering for the Self Denial Appeal this year. Items will be available for viewing and collection this Sunday between our two services at the back section of the worship hall.

Thank you to Bill and Bev for their kind contribution.
Kids Church Leaders
We are really in need of volunteers to help with our Kids Church team, mostly with our Jr Soldier's age group. If you would like to be part of this team, please speak with Jeff Parker about the requirements.
Maitland Story in Salvos Online
A great story about the Band's time at the Maitland Harvest festival is now online. Thanks to all who contributed: https://www.salvosonline.org.au/post/a-good-harvest-at-maitland-during-festival-weekend
Self Denial Appeal
Please pray about your contribution for the appeal this year, but also for our collective contribution as The Salvation Army in Australia. May God use our offering to further his Kingdom purposes where it is needed most.
