Ladies Fellowship
Ladies Fellowship meets each week at 10am for morning tea and 10:30am for fellowship. This week we will hear from Mj. Margaret Sanz on the topic of 'Seeing is Believing'. All women are welcome to join!

Tech Team Training
You’re invited to join the Tech Team Training & Lunch on Sunday 23^rd October at 12.30pm. If you’re interested in joining the tech team, this is a great opportunity to get some hands on experience. Existing team members will have the chance to brush up on skills and technique. Around 20% of our Sunday morning congregation joins us for worship online, so we’ll be focusing on Cameras & Video Directing. Please RSVP to Anthony Eden by Sunday 16^th October.

Time Away
From this coming Monday, Lt. Sarah will be out of the office, attending a 'First Year Service Seminar' at Stanmore House. Service Seminars happen throughout Officership and are an opportunity for officers to review their spiritual and ministry journey, reflect on experiences and calling and to refocus on their ongoing ministry journey. Usually, this particular seminar happens in the 'first year' after commissioning, however due to covid, this year's seminar includes officers commissioned in the last 3 years. Following the week at Stanmore, Sarah will then be on a Sabbatical weekend. 

Community Event - Church Picnic
Everyone is invited to join for our church picnic on Saturday 5 November from 12-2pm at Lake Parramatta. Meet near parking/cafe and BYO chairs, picnic blankets and lunch. You might also like to bring your swimmers or some games/sport equipment to enjoy. 

Worship Night
Our next Youth & Young Adults Worship night at Parramatta is on Sunday 13 November at 5:30pm. 

Flourish
Our next Flourish event is a Gingerbread House Decorating Party. All women and children (under 18) are welcome to join on Saturday 3 December from 3pm-5pm at Parramatta Salvos. 
Cost:
$50 for afternoon tea and a gingerbread house kit
$10 afternoon tea only

National Creative Arts Camp 2023
Following the postponement of the event in 2022, the Worship Arts team is thrilled to be hosting the Australia Territory's inaugural National Creative Arts Camp - a camp experience that will bring together creatives from across Australia to share in a week of praise and worship through music and the creative arts.  We are keen to identify creatives who would benefit from sharing in this special experience, learning and collaborating with other talented musicians and creative artists. 
Dates - Sunday 15 – Friday 20 January 2023   
Venue – Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre, located 60 minutes north of Sydney, is secluded and stunning with sweeping views of the Hawkesbury River. 
Cost - $350  
Delegates - Youth and Young Adults [15 – 30 years]

Christmas Collecting
We have the opportunity to collect at both Winston Hills Mall and Carlingford Court in the lead up to Christmas. These dates are earlier than usual, so we will be putting rosters out in the foyer from next week and ask that you consider collecting during one of the available times. We will be collecting at Winston Hills Mall from 14/11 - 20/11 from 10am-4pm, and at Carlingford Court from 28/11 - 3/11 from 10am-4pm. 

Wills Day 2023
Registration is now open for the Parramatta Wills Day 2023 and anyone from the community can register by logging onto the website (www.salvos.org.au/willsday) and booking their preferred slot or contacting the office on 1800 337 082. 

Anti-Poverty Week at Parramatta Salvos
On Monday Moneycare and Parramatta Salvos collaborated for an Anti-Poverty Week event. 100 plus people attended and heard presentations from a large variety of services, including but not limited to: Services Australia, Transurban Linkt, Legal Aid, Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers, Doorways, Origin Energy, EPlus Local, Eva Burrows College, AGL, NSW Births,Deaths and Marriages and Sydney Water. 
Community members were then able to visit an expo where these services were giving immediate advice and help. 

Attendees were entertained by some Sri Lankan dancing and a non for profit organization ‘Kids Giving Back’ provided free lunch for everyone. There were 10 lucky door prize hampers given away; hampers were filled with items donated by the corps. 

We are grateful that we co-locate and partner with Moneycare who do amazing work in supporting community members through their challenging times. 

Preaching series resouces
On 30^th October we will be commencing a new preaching series titled 'Celebration of Discipline'. This is series is based on Richard Foster's book of the same title.  
We often get requests for the books that we use, so we have purchased some copies of this book and of a book written by Foster's son, Nathan - 'The Making of an Ordinary Saint' (My journey from frustration to joy with the spiritual disciplines).

If you would like to purchase either of these books please email the office or speak with Sarah or Kylie. The cost per book is $20.

SHE Weekend
Last weekend 21 women from Parramatta Salvos went to the Divisional Women's Weekend at the Collaroy Centre. We had a great time spending quality time with one another!
