Hi Parramatta Salvos, 

This Sunday we continue our series in the book of Proverbs. We hope you are enjoying learning more about the practical wisdom Proverbs offers. Hopefully you've joined us in reading a chapter of Proverbs a day over the last few weeks - it's our prayer that God continues to speak to you through His Word.

Father's Day
Next Sunday, 4 September, we are celebrating all the great men at Parramatta Salvos. For this special Sunday, we will be gathering together for a combined 10am service only, followed by morning tea. 

Ladies Fellowship
Ladies Fellowship meets each week at 10am for morning tea and 10:30am for fellowship. On Wednesday 31 August, we will have a special morning with Caitlin Young. All women are welcome to attend.

Youth and Young Adults Supper
Youth and Young Adults Supper is happening THIS SUNDAY, 28th August at 5:30pm at Jayne's house. Come along and enjoy delicious food and fun. To help with catering please let Jayne know if you're coming.

Flourish
The next Flourish women's event is a movie afternoon on 17th September, 2.30pm. We will be watchingMr Churchand sharing in some great food.

Mr. Church tells the story of a unique friendship that develops when a little girl and her dying mother retain the services of a talented cook - Henry Joseph Church. What begins as a six month arrangement instead spans into fifteen years and creates a family bond that lasts forever.

Worship Night
The Youth and Young Adults will be joining together for worship on Sunday 11th September, 5.30pm. Joel Campbell from Shire Salvos will be the guest speaker. Homework Club
We are excited that a new Homework Group will be commencing at Parramatta Salvos in Term 4 on Wednesday 12th October at 4.30pm. We are in need of volunteers to help in this space, both working with children and young people, as well as serving in the cafe that will be open to parents and caregivers. Community Night - Trivia
Last Saturday just over 70 people gathered for our Community Night! A fun night of trivia and games were shared. Congratulation to the winning team, the 'Trivia Newton-Johns'!

Sanctuary Course
On Thursday night, over 30 people gathered to begin The Sanctuary Course at Parramatta Salvos!

The 'Sanctuary Course' was created to equip churches as they seek to become sanctuaries where individuals with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging. Each session explores key mental health topics, drawing upon the insights of mental health professionals, church leaders, and people with lived experience.

This course runs on Thursday evenings at Parramatta Salvos from 7pm-8:30pm and is free for participants. There is also an invitation to join for dinner from 6pm-7pm. Course dates are: 25 August, 1 September, 8 September, 15 September, 22 September, 13 October, 20 October, 27 October.

Impact Plus
Last weekend, Gabe & Isaac Baker joined brass players across Australia for The Salvation Army's Impact Plus (formally Future Brass) camp in Blampied, VIC. Below is a picture of the representation from Sydney Youth Band.

National Prayer Focus 2022 - Jesus Centered
The Salvation Army invites you to join in 22 days of prayer for our National Prayer Focus from Sunday 21 August to Sunday 11 September.
The theme for this year is Jesus Centered and there are ways you can get involved.
