Join us this Sunday for the final message of our series The GOAT - The Greatest of All Time. We'll be taking a look at Jesus as the greatest giver this week.

This week we also focus on the renewal of our giving. For those who give regularly with envelopes, you will notice that you have run out. New envelopes are on their way! We encourage you to consider transitioning to direct debit/bank transfer for giving, and are always more than happy to help you get this set up. If you don't give regularly at Parramatta Corps, perhaps this is something you might consider over the coming weeks. Allow God to speak to you about contributing to kingdom work through your tithes and offerings, and reach out if you ever want to chat about why we are called, as followers of Jesus, to give back to God.

Bless you each as you continue to love and serve,

Kylie & Sarah

Anti-Poverty Week
The 2020 report, Poverty in Australia, revealed the staggering statistic that there are more than three million Australians, or 14 per cent of the population, living below the poverty line. These numbers include 774,000 children.

But poverty is more than statistics. It is about real people, like you and me, living with family stress, anxiety and lack of security. It’s about poor health and education outcomes for children, and reduced opportunities in life.

Proverbs 31:8-9 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute… defend the rights of the poor and needy.” We are called to take action, and we are grateful at Parramatta Salvos for our fantastic Moneycare Team and Doorways Caseworker who offer help and support to all people. This week, we encourage you to pray for these people, along with our fantastic volunteers.

Flourish
Last Saturday, the ladies of our corps and wider community joined together for Flourish online. More than 60 women gathered for a time of encouragement, prayer and sharing from Commissioner Janine Donaldson.

We invite all women to 'save the date' for our first Flourish of 2022 on Saturday February 19.
New Employee at Parramatta Salvos!
We are excited to announce that our new Community Connection Worker position has been filled. On Monday 18 October, Sarah Taufaao will begin working with us at Parramatta Salvos. We can't wait to introduce Sarah to you over the coming weeks in Parramatters and in our online services! Please pray for Sarah as she begins this new role with us.
Harrison Family
We join together in prayer for Brian and his family this week after the Promotion to Glory of Denise. An email has been sent regarding funeral details - as the service will be invitation only due to current restrictions, we will be providing a live stream for everyone to watch and support the family from home.

You can view the Celebration of Denise's Life here: https://www.salvationarmy.org.au/parramatta/funeral/
Drysdale Family
We continue to pray for Diane Hardy and the Drysdale family after the passing of Ken. Please continue to offer support and prayers for the family in the coming weeks.
Praying through our Corps Directory
Each week we pray for people with surnames beginning with 3 letters of the alphabet. This week we pray for surnames N-P and we invite you to be praying for these people in your quiet time this week.
