Name:  Ray Leavy

Corps:   Waverley Temple

Family:  Wife Carol - Two sons Scott and Cameron

Instrument / Make:  Tenor Horn

Date Joined MRSB:  August 2017

Favourite Band Piece / Composer:  Divine Communion - Arthur Gullidge.

Indeed one of the greatest pieces of music in the history of Salvation Army brass bands. It's sense of intimacy with God permeates the music, perhaps in a way that could only be inspired by the spectre of eternity that hung over Gullidge on the battlefields of New Guinea. Songs used most effectively are: "All there is of me, Lord"; "Sweet will of God" and "Holy Spirit, faithful Guide".

Over the years, many Salvation Army congregations have been drawn intrinsically to the throne of God by the simple yet powerful message of self-surrender, closeness to God and the assurance of eternal guidance.

Interests:  Football and Fishing

Favourite Bible Verse:   John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Life Influences:  Grand Children
