Welcome

The Cairns Aged Care Centre at Chapel Hill is a contemporary home, offering the best of urban life with the charms of nature. We are lucky enough to have the Mt Coot-tha Forest surrounding us with views of green hillsides and mountains, nearby access to public transport and local services and are just 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.

Designed in consultation with industry experts and peers, we have incorporated modern design principles for aged care. We have spacious and bright communal areas and rooms, wide corridors and modern facilities, whilst still having homely interiors that offer a warm, inviting community atmosphere. Outside, we have beautiful landscaped gardens and our own pond. With an active lifestyle program and a variety of quality amenities, our committed staff work hard to create a sense of belonging and opportunities for residents to live their best lives, while receiving the care that they need. Our staff and management are never too far away to answer any queries.

We recognise the importance of family and friends to residents' wellbeing and encourage them to be an active part of our community. We also have strong ties and work closely with the local community.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training to ensure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

Exercise and wellbeing programs

We take fun quite seriously. The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents via resident meetings including animal therapy, music therapy, art therapy, movie nights, regular visiting entertainers like magicians and musicians, outings, gardening club and family functions.

We offer:

  • Onsite cafe
  • Hair dressing salon
  • Mobile library

We also have a daily exercise class, twice-weekly walking group, strength and balance program and a diversional therapy program with our diversional therapist.

Visiting health specialists

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including physiotherapist, occupational therapist, podiatrist and optometrist.

Spiritual and chaplaincy services

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.

Testimonial

The Cairns Centre is a lovely facility. The residents love to walk around outside and see the flowers, the pond and local wildlife. Many activities and exercise groups keep people busy everyday if they so choose. The best thing to see is the friendships that develop, both between residents as well as the staff.
