What we do…

The Port Augusta Youth Bus provides safe transportation, mentoring and referrals to young people aged between 5years and 18years of age. Working specifically with at risk/vulnerable young people in Port Augusta the service has two key focus areas:

1)      To provide safe transport to young people in Port Augusta

2)      To help young people build better relationships and make improved life choices through mentoring or connection to additional support.

Safe transport  is achieved through outreach patrols undertaken between the hours of 10pm and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights (October - April) and increases to every night of the week during the October, Dec/Jan and April School Holidays.

On a limited capacity Youth Bus staff also engage with Young people through mentoring relationships and program facilitation to help a young person to evaluate life, opportunities and improve capacity to pursue positive relationships and make good decisions. Where direct support is unable to be offered or other support needs are identified, Youth Bus staff will assist a young person to connect with support by making a referral or connection point.

Please note that the Youth Bus Outreach Transport is scheduled to recommence from Friday 28th September 2018. For more information please call 0419 151 980
