Port Augusta Salvos has been supporting and serving our community for over 130 years. In 2013, we moved to our current and central facility on Carlton Parade, making holistic community support more accessible and sustainable.
If you are experiencing financial hardship or are facing a crisis, contact us to find out how we can support you.
Depending on your situation, and what we have available, we may be able to provide you with vouchers for food, fuel or electricity.
We can also help with referrals to other support services such as addiction rehabilitation centres.

For all-year emergency financial assistance, call us and a team member will have a compassionate conversation with you to understand your needs and let you know what help is available.
When you phone us, you may be told you're eligible for a voucher and directed to visit us for collection on:
Monday, 1–2pm
Tuesday, 10–11am, or
Wednesday, 1–2pm

If you’re experiencing ongoing challenges and need more than one-off emergency relief, our Doorways case work service offers a holistic, person-centred approach to support you. We can advocate on your behalf and connect you with appropriate resources and services.
Our case workers are here to listen to your story, work alongside you to identify your skills and strengths, and support you in addressing any areas of concern. Together, we will develop a plan to help you move toward your goals and your desired future.

The Salvation Army’s free financial counselling service, Moneycare, is here to help you feel in control of your finances. We can work with you to manage your debt, develop new strategies or you may like to explore our free eBook. We can also point you in the right direction for a No Interest Loan.

This service helps individuals and families at risk of homelessness. Using a supportive accommodation model, it works to prevent homelessness or reduce the time people spend without stable housing.

The Common Ground Port Augusta (CGPA) project addresses the shortage of housing primarily for Aboriginal people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. It does this by providing long-term accommodation with support services.

Available from the first week of November.
This time of joy and celebration can be stressful and isolating if finances are tight. We may be able to support you with food, toys, gifts, vouchers and more.
