By partnering with The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal, your students can make a meaningful impact through initiatives such as Hampers of Hope, food and gift drives, and fundraising activities.

Whether you're a school, class, year level or student group, there are plenty of ways to get involved and support individuals and families in your local community this festive season.

Hampers of Hope: Fill a hamper and share hope this Christmas 

Get your school involved in a hands-on way to support people in need this Christmas through our Hampers of Hope initiative — a practical and meaningful opportunity for your students, families, or class groups to make a difference.

It’s simple:

1. Some schools choose to provide one bag per participating family, while others allocate a set number of hampers for each class to complete together
2. We will confirm your registration and post empty bags to your school
3. You share the suggested shopping list with students and families, who then fill bags with eight or more non-perishable food items
4. We will contact you (the school) to arrange collection of your donation, or share a drop off location for your hampers

Host a school food and Christmas gift drive 

Host a food and/or gift drive at school and ask your school community to contribute.

Collect items such as non-perishable foods, toys or gifts that can be donated at your local Salvation Army. These items will then be distributed to bring hope and festive cheer this holiday season.

In–school fundraising 

Bring your school community together and partner with the Salvos through a Christmas fundraiser at your school.

Whether it’s a casual clothes day, BBQ, bake sale, Christmas concert or end-of-year celebration, you school’s fundraising efforts can provide vital support for those doing it tough in the community this Christmas.

Online fundraising — Christmas Hope 

Create a Christmas Wishes fundraising page and invite your school community to support The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal online.

Share your fundraising page with students, families and staff, set a goal, and work together to help bring hope and practical support to people in need this Christmas.
