We provide refuge, outreach case management, early intervention and recovery services for adult and child victim survivors of family violence. Our crisis response and recovery focused case management services are informed by The Salvation Army Family Violence Model of Care and Case Management Framework which are trauma informed, evidence based, client centred and inclusive.

The Family Violence Services operate two refuges in the region which can accommodate single adult victim survivors or families who are escaping family violence. In addition to providing a safe, warm and welcoming space for victim survivors, services provided include, but are not limited to, risk and needs assessment, safety planning, advocacy, support accessing grants and payments, and referrals to other services such as legal, wellbeing, mental health, housing and health services. The refuges operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our specialist family violence program for young people aged 16 to 24 years provides outreach case management support to young people at the risk of or experiencing family and domestic violence. The program also offers workshops and capacity building for professionals who support young people to increase their knowledge of family and domestic violence and early intervention for at-risk youth.
Family and Domestic Violence Counselling
Our Family Violence Counsellor provides psychoeducation; and healing and recovery focussed supports for adult victim survivors engaged in both residential and outreach services. Referrals are also received from external services.
Healing and Recovery for Children
Specialist therapeutic responses are provided for children in the refuge. The Specialist Children’s Practitioner provides trauma informed, child centred and culturally safe supports with a focus on recovery from experiences of family violence.
