We have a role, for a single or married couple, in Broken Hill, New South Wales to be the chaplains of a growing community. 

Broken Hill has an integral ministry to journey with community members who work, live on stations and community members who reside in small rural towns. The distances are far, the land roads can be harsh, the experience in the far west is life-changing. Rural chaplains are the face of The Salvation Army and are servants of Jesus to those they minister to.

Rural chaplains will reside in Broken Hill and have the use of a 4wd, caravan to assist with ministry. A rural chaplain needs drive a manual, like caravanning, be part of the rural chaplain's team, willing to work with other stakeholders, show initiative, be a self-starter and motivated to do the role well.  Be willing to attend community events such as gymkhanas.

Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory and Victoria are keen to welcome Auxiliary Lieutenants who have relevant qualifications or extensive experience in Youth and Young Adults ministries. These roles are responsible for strengthening current, emerging and future ministry practice in youth and young adult ministry within the assigned division, and as part of a national team. 

The role is part of a collection of teams that support an intergenerational focus and work together collaboratively to provide strategic and tactical support to mission.

Auxiliary Lieutenant 

Sale

Sale Corps is based approx. two and a half hours from Melbourne City. It serves the local community in Sale, which includes a large Air Force base close by and a great country town with all local amenities. A very strong Thrift Shop supports the corps, and an active Doorways centre is co-located onsite.

Sale is a smaller corps with a big heart, and a great desire to reach their local community. There is huge potential in the Port of Sale for a thriving Salvation Army Corps.

 

Morwell

Situated in the La Trobe Valley, In South East Victoria, the Morwell corps has a long history of Salvation Army Ministry.

Co-Located with the La Trobe Doorways Services and the brand new facility, purpose-built for this strong outreach ministry, the Corps is well-positioned to move forwards in reaching the local community with the love of Jesus. The corps is also supported by a thriving thrift shop/jumble shed, recently updated.

Palmerston and Darwin Corps 

Situated in the Northern Territory, Palmerston and Darwin offer the best of both worlds, you will be based in a growing multicultural city with a friendly and laid-back lifestyle, and the remote and beautiful region of the Top End including Kakadu and Litchfield National Park offering adventure and once in a lifetime opportunities on your doorstep. Darwin is well known as Australia’s gateway to world-class nature, and cultural activities and experiences.

The Palmerston and Darwin Corps provides an exciting opportunity to Corps Officers who are interested in growing the Salvation Army Ministry in the Top End. The roles are challenging but immensely rewarding, giving you an opportunity to work innovatively with the support of a fantastic Top End team. Additionally, being based in Darwin or Palmerston provides you with the chance to gain on the ground experience and awareness of the challenges facing Australia’s First Nations people and the opportunity to empower First Nations people to rise above these challenges through the love of Jesus.
