CADET

For those wanting to become an officer, your ministry and theological training will be guided by the Spiritual Formation team at Eva Burrows College.

Since every cadet is unique, the college uses an individualised model of training to prepare and equip you the best we can. Each cadet is also provided with an Individualised Training Officer.

Depending on your ministry experience and circumstances, training time may vary between 1-4 years, and may take place as either a residential or appointment-based experience.

AUXILIARY LIEUTENANTS

The purpose of Auxiliary Lieutenancy is to provide short term (3 to 10-year contract) spiritual leadership opportunities within The Salvation Army.

Requirements include, but are not limited to: Leadership aptitude, mission and ministry aptitude, employment history, pattern of discipleship, Biblical and theological depth.

Auxiliary Lieutenants perform almost all the same duties as commissioned officers. This role can be a starting place if you intend to apply for Officership in the future.

OFFICER

A Salvation Army officer is an ordained full-time minister who serves God through the mission of The Salvation Army.

This form of spiritual leadership covers an amazing variety of ministry roles, ranging from corps officership (leading a local congregation) to leading and coordinating social services.

One of the distinct features of officership, through a mutual consultation process, is being available to serve in any location. This creates a unique ministry opportunity to travel Australia and internationally.

Officership provides a supportive environment for ministry leaders to grow and thrive, to live out God's purpose in one's life, and to lead and serve others well.

SPECIALISED OFFICER

Eva Burrows College has developed a new pathway for Salvationists who are called by God towards the field of social and community services and full-time service as an officer.

This role is titled Social and Community Services Officer. After training, you will be commissioned as a Salvation Army officer. Like all officers, you are required to make yourself available to serve anywhere in the Australia Territory, but exclusively in social and community services appointments.
