Becoming a Cadet

Keven, a new cadet, shares how God called him into officership:

"God called me to Officership in 2012, I was not in a good space at that time in my life and I heard the Lord tell me that it was all going to be ok and that he had my back and that he wanted me to come and work for him as an officer of the Salvation Army. I had put that to the back of my mind and again in 2018 I had been nominated by a friend and again I had been given the tap on the shoulder from God. "Hey remember what we spoke about" I felt him saying again to me reminding me of the time where he spoke to me." Keven, Messenger of Reconciliation, 2020.

Q&A

Q: Keven, what do you think is going to be the greatest challenge in your training?

A: My greatest challenge is going to be that I have not studied since leaving high school and also am a Cadet in Appointment, so need to manage my time well. I have set a study plan and hope to combine my learnings from the classroom with my experience in the field.

Q: What are you most looking forward to?

A: To work for such an inspirational movement like the Salvation Army, where I once needed them, I can now give back.
