Everyone is welcome this Christmas
For many people, Christmas is a time filled with celebrations, visiting family, or gathering as a community. However, we understand that for others, Christmas can be a sad, heavy, isolating date on the calendar.
The Salvos celebrate Christmas — in all circumstances — because we rejoice in the birth of Jesus, who brings light, hope, love and joy to the world. We believe Jesus is the source of all good things.
Even the very first Christmas was filled with light and hope that shone into the dark. On the night of Jesus’ birth, an angel lit up the dark night sky and appeared to society’s outcasts — a group of shepherds. The angel said, “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people” (Luke 2:9-10, NLT).
If Christmas this year feels dark and filled with financial hardship, loneliness, or other challenges, it can be hard to celebrate. We are here for you and support is available. We’d also love to welcome you to a local carol event or church service, so you don’t have to face Christmas alone.
