2. Creating new habits

New money habits and skills to make changes for the better.

An action plan for change

Some of the new habits include preparing a budget, saving a little each pay, or shopping around for a better deal. It takes effort to make changes - you’ll have to break some old habits and create new ones. But if you want different results tomorrow, you have to do things differently today.

Answer these questions to help you take action. We want to help you get there!

  1. What new money habit would I like to start on?
  2. How important on a scale of 1 to 10 is it to build this new habit/skill?
  3. Why do I want this?
  4. How will this change help me? And how will I feel when I’ve achieved it?
  5. What might stop me from reaching my goal in question 1?
  6. What can I do to get around these obstacles?
  7. Where can I get support from?
    • Moneycare worker
    • Family and friends with skills in this area
    • Independent information
