The Concept

The Salvos Coffee Program has been operating in PNG's Eastern Highlands district for over 7 years. Our coffee team are based in a small office in the Salvation Army Divisional Head Quarters in Goroka. 

The concept is simple, the proceeds from every bag of Salvos Coffee you buy goes directly to the Salvos Coffee program. With that money, the team in Goroka are able to support the very same farmers that grow the coffee with our well established livelihoods and social care program.

Our farmers grow the best quality coffee at high altitudes in the Eastern Highlands of PNG and use largely organic methods of farming. Due to the rich volcanic soils in this area chemical fertilizers are an unnecessary expense, pesticides are not needed and most farmers prefer a bush knife and some elbow grease to chemical weed killers.
