Stafford Salvos

Everyone is invited to the 2019 Word Day of Prayer which is to be hosted this year on Brisbane's northside by The Salvation Army Stafford on Friday, March 1, from 10.30.

The theme this year is: Come - Everything is ready. The theme and the liturgy for the day was created by a committee of women from Slovenia. The theme centres around the scripture taken from Luke 14:15-24.

The World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative. It's motto is “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action". The day is commemorated annually in more than 170 countries on the first Friday in March. I was formerly known as the Women's World Day of Prayer but, being still planned by a group of women from a specific country, it is not gender specific and aims to bring together people of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common day or prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.
