Group has year sewn up

Some of the handiwork from our corps craft group members.

By Darryl Whitecross

For many years now, we have run a craft club a couple of times a month which produces some amazing creations as well as developing new skills.

The group meets these days on the first and third Wednesday of each month, from 9.30am to 11.30am and slots in a coffee morning at a cafe every now and then.

The group tackles a variety of crafts, devoting each month to one project.

They learn how to and work together on making such items as self-binding placements, armrest sewing caddies, air-dry clay creations, napkin holders, microwave oven bowl holders, knitting and crocheting, granny doorstops, glass leadlighting and etching, Christmas decorations, pot holders and pot pads and a whole lot more.

Each session costs $5 which includes morning tea. Materials for projects is an extra cost.

Everyone is welcome to come along for company, coffee and ... well ... craft.
