What can we provide?

The National Safer in the Home program requires referrals from family and domestic violence professionals.

We provide a range of basic security upgrades

Depending on priority and budget, upgrades might include:

  • Lock changes to or rekeying of external doors to which the person using violence has a copy of keys to access
  • Provision and installation of security sensor lighting
  • Provision and installation of security screen doors to essential entry and exit points
  • Compliant utility locks where there has been evidence of tampering by the person using violence
  • Remote technology consultations including basic cyber safety education with a security technician

Remote technology consultations

G-SEC Security is an accredited security provider that meets The Salvation Army's compliance requirements and has extensive experience delivering technology safety services for people affected by family and domestic violence.

A Remote Tech Check can be funded for up to two devices per client. Conducted over the phone by a qualified IT Analyst using secure remote viewing software, the consultation can assist with:

  • Device security and privacy settings
  • Account security
  • Location and sharing settings
  • App permissions
  • Signs of suspicious or unauthorised access
  • Password security, where required

The analyst can view the client's screen but cannot control the device, and the client remains in control throughout the consultation. Following the appointment, G-SEC provides a report directly to the Safer in the Home (SITH). Reports are not provided directly to clients.
