This primary school program introduces The Salvation Army’s work in Australia and encourages young people to recognise their social impact. Through fun activities and videos, students explore the concept of ‘caring’. They are empowered to positively support their communities and contribute to social change through kindness and compassion.

Learning outcomes

  • Students come to understand the ways that The Salvation Army provides support to people experiencing hardship 
  • Students are introduced to the work of The Salvation Army in Australia 
  • Students understand their social impact as young people, and the idea that one person can make a difference 
  • Students gain greater awareness of inequality, and ways they can take action within their communities through showing kindness 
  • Students know where to seek support for themselves and others experiencing hardship
