Centre of Hope

Located at the corner of Read Street and Willmott Drive, Cooloongup. 
 
We aim for our centre to be a place where HOPE is shared. 
 
Enjoy tea and coffee, grab a bite to eat and have a chat with our friendly staff and other community members. Our drop-in centre is open three times a week to provide food, free Wi-Fi and access to showers and washing facilities. 
 
We aim for our centre to be a positive, safe and non-threatening environment where people can come and build healthy connections with others while having access to a range of support services delivered by The Salvation Army and our many other partner agencies.

Free bread is available in the main foyer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

 

Our community cafe is open during the drop-in centre hours to provide coffee, hot beverages and a light meal.

Freo Street Doctor

Provided by Black Swan Health, the Freo Street Doctor is a mobile medical health service that provides a visible, easily accessible and non-judgemental primary health care service. 

 

All consultations and procedures are bulk billed at no cost to the patient. A Medicare card is required.

Alcohol and other drugs recovery

We offer non-residential support for adults wanting to address problematic substance use, including case management, counselling, outreach and referrals.

Financial and material assistance

Sometimes life is tough, and we need help with food and other practical items. If you’re experiencing financial hardship and struggling to put food on the table, we are here for you. The Salvation Army believes in good for you and we want to see you get back on your feet.

Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm  

We will have a compassionate, friendly and confidential conversation with you to understand your needs and how we can support you.  

This may involve making an appointment to collect a gift card or food through a Salvation Army Doorways site. As part of this practical support, we will talk to you about your goals and offer you long-term case management support to help you work towards those goals.

Financial counselling

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your finances or are facing a financial crisis — you’re not alone. Support is available through The Salvation Army’s Moneycare financial counselling service. 

We can support you with reducing your debt — including credit cards, overdue bills, buy now pay later loans and mortgage payments — and help increase your confidence with managing your money.
