Governor-General adds his support to the Red Shield Appeal

Published on
29 May 2019

Sir Peter Cosgrove, the current Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, has delivered an impassioned appeal, calling on the Australian public to donate generously to the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal 2019. An official patron of the Red Shield Appeal, Sir Peter Cosgrove has been an ardent supporter of our work of bringing hope and help in times of hardship.

Many Australians are doing it tough – whether it is homelessness, the aftereffects of a natural disaster, escaping family violence or even unemployment. The Red Shield Appeal raises much needed funds that help us deliver our different social and community services, and bring hope where it is needed most. Please help us help others, because together, we can make a difference.
