Outdoor Prayer Walk
Take a walk about our church grounds in prayer.
Ask God to bless every ministry, person and purpose that touches this space and to extend his love and kingdom into the surrounding community.
1. Start at our church sign and roadside entrance
Theme: Visibility and invitation to the community
Pray: For every passer-by to feel drawn toward Christ and His church. That North Brisbane Salvos would be a visible light and a place of hope in the neighbourhood. For boldness and compassion in outreach.
Scripture: Matthew 5:14 — “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”
2. Continue to our car park
Theme: First impressions and expectancy
Pray: For everyone arriving , whether visiting or returning, to come with open hearts and encounter God. That people would feel peace the moment they set foot on the property. For safety and hospitality in all logistics.
Scripture:Psalm 122:1 — “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”
3. At our front entrance and walkways
Theme: Welcome and transformation
Pray: That all who enter would feel seen, loved, and welcomed. For transformation, healing, and salvation to happen regularly here. For connect team, first impressions team, coffee cart and hospitality teams.
Scripture:Romans 15:7 — “Welcome one another...as Christ has welcomed you.”
4. At our undercover area
Theme: Community and fellowship
Pray: For meaningful conversations, encouragement, and connections to take place. That North Brisbane Salvos would be a place of rest and relationship building. For unity across generations and backgrounds.
Scripture:Acts 2:42 — “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship...”
5. Stop by the playground
Theme: Raising up the next generation
Pray: For every child and teen who walks this ground to know Jesus personally. For protection, joy, and spiritual growth. For all the children and youth leaders who invest in them.
Scripture:Proverbs 22:6 — “Train up a child in the way they should go...”
6. Walk by the basketball court and green spaces
Theme: Joy, outreach and creativity
Pray: For events, picnics, sports, and community gatherings held in these spaces. That the joy of the Lord would overflow in all activities. That these spaces would serve as bridges between the church and community.
Scripture:Nehemiah 8:10 — “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
7. For our surrounding streets and neighbours
Theme: The community beyond our walls
Pray: For homes, schools, and businesses nearby to experience God’s peace and provision. For the lost, hurting, and searching to draw to the church and to Christ. For North Brisbane Salvos to be faithful in serving and loving our local community.
Scripture:Jeremiah 29:7 — “Seek the welfare of the city... and pray to the Lord on its behalf.”
8. For our Thrift Store
Theme: Mission, provision and divine appointments
Pray: For the Thrift Store to be a place of connection, dignity, and generosity. That each customer would sense God’s love, whether shopping, donating, or volunteering. For divine appointments: moments of conversation, prayer, and gospel seeds. For the store to continue meeting physical and spiritual needs.
Scripture: Isaiah 58:10 — “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness...”
9. Finish at our Outdoor Chapel
Theme: Consecration and surrender
Pray: To surrender the grounds, ministries, the people, and the future to God. For ongoing revival, holiness, and Spirit-led mission. Give thanks for all God has done and all He will do.
Scripture:Romans 12:1 — “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God...”
