A goat can provide delicious nutritious milk for a family. The milk is used for drinking and cooking, and any excess is sold. The goat’s manure is used to fertilise the garden so that the quantity and quality of vegetables increases, resulting in more food for the family to eat and sell. The goat can also be bred and offspring sold for income. Better nutrition, improved health as well as increased income makes this a valuable gift.

Every gift purchased through Salvos Gifts empowers communities to lift themselves out of poverty. The cost to implement each project varies. Therefore, when a project is fully funded, we direct excess funding to projects of a similar nature. This ensures the needs of the communities you support are met and that they have ownership of the project.
